During the ascension, floor-to-ceiling LED technology immerses visitors in a snow covered time-lapse recreation of the development of New York City’s skyline. The SkyPod elevator travels to Floor 102 in 47 seconds, at a speed of about 23 miles per hour. It wouldn’t be a winter wonderland without snow! There’s nothing more thrilling than a winter scene while riding high above NYC in the fastest elevators in the Western Hemisphere. Here, guests wander a winding trail through an underground winter grotto, with sparkling crystals and winter icicles. Its here in this multi-media experience where guests join Ollie the Owl as he takes flight across the world. Through the gorgeous hallway is 144 individual screens that leads you to the One World Observatory’s famous elevators. Guests enter the lobby and meet Ollie as he takes flight, navigating through snowy animations of the world’s most popular destinations, called One World of Wonders.
